Katrina Kaif is refusing to part with her favourite car even though top mechanics of the city have asked her to let go of her damaged vehicle by either selling it off or giving it for full body repair.

The mechanics have also told her that by riding in the same car she is risking her life.

But all this has fallen on deaf ears because Katrina says she is very sentimental to let this car go because it is "one of her first big cars".

Colors pays Rs.4.5 crore to screen 'Ajab Prem...'

The channel is learnt to have paid a whopping Rs.4.5 crores for it. "With 'Blue' and 'Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani' we wanted to enter the feature film slots with a bang. So far we had desisted from showing feature films," said a source from the channel.
"Once we decided to show films, we had to grab eyeballs immediately. And to do so we needed films that would elicit instant reaction. Having got that with two new biggies, we'll now settle down to telecast less recent films," added the source.

Unlike 'Blue' which sank without a trace at the box office after its theatrical release Oct 16, Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif starrer 'Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani' is a hit. But Ramesh Taurani, producer of 'Ajab...', says it won't affect the film's collection at the ticket window.

"The satellite premiere of 'Ajab' is happening at December end which is two months after its theatrical release. The theatrical business nowadays is for four weeks, however successful the film," Taurani told us.

Katrina Kaif is on a house-hunting spree. Real estate sources from Bandra reveal that for the last few months.

The actress has been searching for a ghar in Bandra area, that's far away from Galaxy Apartments

(Salman Khan's residence) and closer to Krishna Raj (Ranbir Kapoor's bungalow)The search for her dream home has become more frantic.

In the past few days, and she has visited nearly half a dozen buildings in that time. The actress is on the lookout for a 4BHK space that's sea-facing.

She has set aside a Rs 10 crore budget for the same. A property broker confirms that Kaif had seen a few apartments in Bandra's Carter Road and Pali Hill area.

He is certain it won't be long before she picks a place, "She wants a big house and her budget is also good.

It won't be a problem for her to find a good house. The only thing is she has to settle on one."

The search has been sporadic in the last few months because Kat often travels for her film and show commitments and recently, she even had a health scare and was bed-ridden for a few days.

The actress currently lives in a 3-BHK flat at Waterfield Road in Bandra and which has allegedly been gifted to her by Salman. Kat admits to looking for a flat in Bandra over the last six months. When quizzed about why she wants to shift from her Waterfield Road flat she says, "I have always wanted a sea-facing flat in Bandra. It's been one of my dreams to own a flat overlooking the sea. Also I want something a bit more secluded and private."

Priyanka Chopra returns as Roma in 'Don 2'

Its rare for Bollywood heroines to return in sequels of their films, but then Farhan Akhtar hasn't built his formidable reputation.

Shah Rukh Khan to attend '3 Idiots' premiere, er... how about 'Veer'?

Shah Rukh Khan has proved to be large hearted with his industry freenimies - he attended Amitabh Bachchan's Paa premiere and now will be seen at Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots premiere.

"I called him (Shah Rukh) yesterday to invite him for my premiere and we chatted for half an hour," 3 Idiots producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra told TOI.

Shah Rukh and Aamir don't attend each others parties and events and are often projected as being at loggerheads.

By the media, but there has never been an open fight between the two. Shah Rukh and Aamir were most recently seen together at the Paa premiere on December 3.

Amitabh Bachchan had personally called up the two stars to invite them for the event. While Shah Rukh arrived with family and stayed through.

The screening of the film, Aamir came accompanied by Chopra and left 30 minutes into screening of the film.

At the premiere Shah Rukh was seen chatting up Amar Singh, a Bachchan family friend who in the past has publicly taken pot shots at Khan. Shah Rukh was even heard inviting Amar Singh to Mannat! 3 Idiot is due for release on December 25 and Aamir Khan has taken responsibility for marketing of the film.

Burqa clad Katrina reaches Ajmer 'dana dan'!

Priyanka and Shahid are back together

I'm looking forward to being a mom - Ash

Aishwarya Rai says she is fully convinced that actor-husband Abhishek Bachchan will make.

A good father in real life because he is so "real and rooted". "Everybody has been asking me if Abhishek will be a good pa (father).

On the work front, the former beauty queen is busy with big ticket projects such as Mani Ratnam's Ravana, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Guzaarish, Rajnikant starrer Endhiran and Vipul Shah's Action Replay. The actress is likely to feature as Mumtaz Mahal with acclaimed Hollywood actor Ben Kingsley in Taj, which is based on Taj Mahal.

"After The Last Legion, Sir Ben and I were keen to work together in another project. He has now come with the final draft and he has just sent it over to me. Once we agree on everything, we will take the project forward. He will start scouting for the locations soon," she said. For now, Aishwarya is looking forward to AB Corp's Paa, which features her father-in-law, megastar Amitabh Bachchan, and Abhishek. The film releases Friday.

Ben Kingsley woos Bollywood star for "Taj" dream

British actor Ben Kingsley, whose portrayal of Indian independence leader Mahatma Gandhi in 1982 won him an Oscar, has his sights set on another Indian story and a Bollywood heroine.

Kingsley is trying to raise finances to make a film titled "Taj" about Shah Jahan, the Mogul emperor and his quest to build.

The Taj Mahal in memory of his third and favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died giving birth to their 14th child.

Kingsley said he is hoping Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the former Miss World and wife of Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan, will play the role of Mumtaz Mahal.

"My wife (Brazilian actress Daniela Barbosa de Carneiro) is going to be in the film. She will play Shah Jahan's first wife, Kandhari Begum," Kingsley told Reuters Television.

"We are hoping very much ... Aishwarya approves this script and loves it." But Kingsley, 65, said the project was not yet set in stone as he still has to secure finances for the film's production. "I have to attract investors to make this film possible.

At the moment, it's not fully financed by any means," he said. "I know there is a great interest in the project and I am very much hoping, although my windows of opportunity is quite small... we do have the script and it's beautiful."

The film would be produced by Kingsley's production company, SBK Pictures, and shot around the area of the Taj Mahal that was built in Agra in northern India between 1632 and 1653. The film is expected to be released in 2011. Kingsley is in India's western Panaji to attend the International Film Festival of India 2009.

The reason why Kareena Kapoor's films flop

A year ago this question would never have made it to any Bollywood producer's thought process, but the time has come to think about it - just how bankable is Kareena Kapoor?

Like Akshay Kumar, Kareena has doled out flop after flop from mid 2007 all the way to the end of 2009. Sample these films - Tashan, Golmaal Returns, Kambakkht Ishq, Mai aur Mrs Khanna, Kurbaan - they all bombed at the box office.

Some might say Golmaal and KIshq made decent money, but what about the ROI? Making the money back doesn't mean the film is a hit, it simply means it flopped.

What's more, the films where she 'guest appeared' in, 'Halla Bol', 'Luck by Chance' and 'Billu' all nosedived as well. To add to it, no one even watched 'Roadside Romeo', the animated film that she provided her voice for.

So what is going wrong? Are these bad films? To some extent, yes. 'Golmaal 2' and 'KIshq' were atrocious, one would have to be a lunatic to assume those would be hits with today's sophisticated junta. 'Mai aur Mrs Khanna' was terrible as well, with its flimsy script and half-baked premise. But what about the 'Saifeena' moniker?

Bollywood promotes the Saif-Kareena jodi like its the best thing since sliced bread. Remember the vomitous 'Tashan'? That film was made to only cash in on the new buzz of the 'hot' Saif-Kareena jodi. 'Roadside Romeo' had the duo for the same reason. The same goes for the recent dud 'Kurbaan'.

And what happened? It turns out only a few people are interested in watching 'Saifeena' on screen, the rest need a decent entertainment product for the hundreds of Rupees they pay for at multiplexes. 'Tashan' was unwatchable, and 'Romeo' was underwhelming.

'Kurbaan' was not so bad, but it was shoddy and had too many plotholes to make for a serious drama pitched in as a film with a lot of attention to detail. Even the excellent soundtrack of 'Kurbaan' couldn't pull in audiences. Is marketing to blame here? Hell no! 'Saifeena' films are given humongous promotions.

'Tashan' posters were everywhere, and you can't possibly forget the bare-back poster from 'Kurbaan' which made its way to every nook and corner of the country. The MNS even helped with the film's promotion by creating a big fuss over the alleged 'nudity' in it. Remember the bikini scene in 'Tashan'? Did it help sell tickets? Not by a long shot.

End result? These films were just not good enough. 'Jab we met' was extremely entertaining, will '3 Idiots' follow suit? Or will it bomb due to the Kareena curse? In any case we can expect 'Saifeena' on Twitter anytime soon; Priyanka Chopra began Tweeting to promote 'Kaminey'; Shahid, Genelia and director Ken Ghosh recently became Tweet-happy (hint: Chance pe Dance).

Amitabh Bachchan's compliment leaves Vidya Balan blushing

It is learnt that since the time, Amitabh Bachchan had said that Vidya Balan reminded him of his favourite actress Waheeda Rehman, the actress just can’t stop blushing. The senior Bachchan had said in a recent interview that Vidya “has the grace and beauty of Waheeda Rehman”. Shahid Kapoor Saves Anushka Sharma

Shahid Kapoor averted a major mishap on the sets of Badmaash Company when a chandelier crashed inches away from co-star Anushka Sharma Chandeliers have been a regular prop in Bollywood.

Anushka Sharma will always remember the prop with a shudder. On Sunday evening, Anushkha, who was shooting.

Shahid and Anushka, under the supervision of choreographer Ahmed Khan, were moving towards a pre-decided spot almost underneath a huge chandelier.

To everyone’s shock, the chandelier suddenly came crashing to the ground. It would have gravely injured Anushka if it hadn’t been for Shahid’s quick reflexes he managed to push the utterly petrified Anushka out of harm’s way.

Said choreographer Ahmed Khan, “Sasha (Shahid) didn’t push Anushka away. He pulled her towards himself just in time. Actually, it was partly my fault. My instructions went a little awry. Anything could have happened. I hope we finish the song without any more problems. This is the third mishap on the sets.” For her part, Anushka said, “Shahid reacted very quickly. Luckily no one was injured.” But the real-life hero played down the incident. “It was nothing major,” said Shahid.

Incidentally, this is the second time within a year that Shahid has come to his leading lady’s rescue. During the shoot of Vishal Bhardwaj’s Kaminey, Priyanka Chopra was driving a scooter with Shahid as the pillion rider when she lost her balance and fell. She could have sustained a major face injury if Shahid had not buffered the fall with his hands. “It’s what anyone would have done, given the situation,” said Shahid.

Priyanka’s 7 husbands includes Naseeruddin and son

Vishal Bhardwaj’s Priyanka Chopra starrer film Saat Khoon Maaf is set to be different and unusual, a movie about polyandry and passion.

Priyanka’s character in the film will have seven husbands. Her youngest husband will be played by Naseeruddin Shah’s son, Vivaan.

Interestingly, Naseer himself will be playing Priyanka’s oldest husband.The film is currently shooting at Coorg and Priyanka will begin shooting once.

She returns from Delhi after receiving the National Award from President Pratibha Patil.Vishal chose Vivaan for the role after he saw him and thought he would do justice to it. As of now, Vivaan has no acting plans.

While it would seem strange to cast both father and son as Priyanka’s husbands, Vishal is confident he wants it that way. Imaad, Vivaan’s older brother, confirmed.

The news that his brother is doing a Vishal Bhardwaj film but stated that he didn’t know what role Vivaan would be playing. At present, no details about the film are being leaked.

She is known to be good with words and now Sushmita Sen is letting the written word do the talking. The actress is not turning author but is using her growing collection of body art to speak her mind. The former Miss Universe is the latest Bollywood celebrity to be bitten by the tattoo bug and has got four inkings etched on herself in the past year.
The 34-year-old actress' latest tattoo is a bold etching of the words 'I Am' on her right wrist, which she says is a proud declaration of her own identity. "I love tattoos. I have three on the arms but the fourth one I cannot show you. They are all permanent and I think I will add more to them," Sushmita told PTI.

I won't jump into Hollywood - Amrita

She's visiting the city after four years, and Amrita Rao is happy about the changes in Bangalore, starting with the airport.

She recently met Hollywood director Baz Luhrmann, who’s been watching several of her films. “We spoke about some of our works. I have seen Moulin Rouge! and Romeo + Juliet, but haven’t yet seen Australia. Baz is inclined towards the Indian film industry and culture. He’s here on a holiday and has gone to an exotic place in the north,” reveals Amrita.

Although they didn’t discuss anything professional, Amrita would love to work with him. “Hollywood is recognising Indian faces in their movies. If something worthwhile is offered, why not? But I won’t jump into anything in Hollywood just for the tag,” she maintains. As for marriage, the 28-year-old is in no hurry. “My parents and I believe that one in a million girls get an opportunity to sustain this race. I don’t want to take it frivolously. Marriage can wait,” says Amrita.

Another Bollywood actor has fallen prey to cyber crime. After Hrs has learnt that young actor Hansika Motwani is the latest victim of hacking. Hansika claims that her Facebook profile has been hacked by a cyber attack. Unfortunately, she hasn’t been able to figure out the hands behind it.
Sources say that she has informed the Mumbai police department about it, however, the actor is yet to file a formal complaint.A close friend of the actor on conditions of anonymity says: “Hansika looks very worried these days.

The actress suddenly found out that her Facebook ID has been hacked! The hacker had not only sneaked into her account but had also changed her password. She can no longer access her account. She learnt about the hack, when she couldn’t log on to her Facebook account and a an ‘error’ message kept flashing on the screen.

It said that she has entered an invalid password.For five days she was not able to get on to the social networking page.” A traumatised Hansika says: “I was really very worried as I was not able to access my account and was also not able to chat with my friends. I was also scared that the people who had hacked into my account might be misusing it, which would have caused me and my friends a great deal of stress.”

The actor immediately contacted Facebook authorities and asked them to reset her account. She is, however, not contemplating on registering a police complaint with Mumbai’s cyber crime department. “Thankfully, I was able to contact Facebook and reset my password but it took all of five days when I disappeared from the world that is Facebook,” she added.

No lip locks for Kat

Katrina said a polite but firm no. Says a source, “All the intimate scenes in Raajneeti are between Ranbir and his American girlfriend played by Sarah Thompson. They have lingering lovemaking and kissing shots. In the Indian portion of Ranbir’s story, there’s no intimacy with Katrina.

She convinced the director that the character of the dignified politician would not go down well with the audience doing intimate scenes.” Katrina is quite firm as she says, “It’s true. I’m not at all comfortable doing kissing scenes. Call me a prude or conservative. I just don’t feel kissing scenes jell well with our audiences. So no kissing scenes for me.”

Only star power doesn't work, says Vidya Balan

Vidya Balan has reasons to celebrate. After PAA, she has enjoyed a double whammy in the form of ISHQIYA finding good acceptance from the audience as well. With the NO ONE KILLED JESSICA already in her kitty and things looking promising with Gulzar's next seemingly quite close, Vidya surely is getting all her calculations right.

"But then who is really looking at formula films today", questions Vidya, "Even younger actors who are just starting off are not shying away from doing something zara hatke. Ranbir Kapoor did WAKE UP SID which was a clear example of a really different film. By no means was it a formula film because the boy and the girl (Konkona Sen) were not lovers in the conventional terms. The situation out there was something that people could identify and this is what helped in moving them. Mission accomplished because as long as you tell an engaging story, you can lay your bet on the film doing well."

However, can she deny the fact that when a film like WAKE UP SID works, it was also because of a huge banner backing it (Karan Johar's Dharma Productions) and a star actor (Ranbir Kapoor) at the helm of affairs. "Today just star power doesn't work. Aapki film ki opening toh lag jayegi par usske baad to toh story hi bolegi naa? That's the only factor which would help you sustain at the box office. At the end of the day only good films work because once word of mouth is bad, people will stop coming regardless of who stars in the film."Well, Vidya would certainly know. It is this word of mouth factor that helped her last release PAA and now ISHQIYA, which has seen an increase in print count this week, to stay at theaters and continue to rake in moolah for weeks in succession.

Bipasha Basu, the husky, dusky bong beauty of bollywood who had gone to Delhi to launch her fitness DVD at hotel Ramda Plaza, has been accused of throwing tantrums and demanding Rs 30 lakhs to attend a party and cut the cake.

In fact, Bipasha Basu was scheduled to attend the launch of her fitness DVD at the hotel which was being organized by Shemaroo, her partners in the DVD. However, soon the hotel owners Ashok and Neeru Mittal demanded that the sultry beauty would have to attend the cake cutting ceremony at the ongoing birthday party of the owner. But Bipasha and other artistes from bollywood charge a fee for attending such functions and so she refused and locked herself in her room. On Bipasha Basu’s refusal to attend the party, the Mittals became furious and asked their hotel security to surround the Bipasha’s room. However, Bipasha Basu refused to relent and came out of room only in the morning to catch her flight to Mumbai.

Though Mittals have accused the gutsy beauty of demanding exorbitant sum of Rs 30 lakh to attend the birthday party, but no other independent source confirmed this. However, she might have demanded the money (though not that much) to attend the function as it has been norm in bollywood, and she was not doing anything special. However, Mittals view the whole thing differently. They accused the dusky beauty of breaching the contract by not attending the party. They insist that it was part of the contract that she would attend the party hosted by Ashok Mittal on his birthday.

The grapevine has it that a brief appearance (of about twenty minutes) was part of the contract but there was no mention of cake cutting on the occasion. Sources close to Bipasha Basu say that when Bipasha saw the cake cutting, she just went out of party and all the hell broke loose.While Mittals are accusing Bipasha Basu of demanding Rs 30 lakhs, the sources from Bipasha’s camp accuse Ashok Mittal not only of abusing everyone present on the occasion (Mittal was inebriated and using foul language) but also demanding Rs 25 lakhs.

As he had been demanding Bipasha’s presence in the party and using such language, Shemaroo people immediately paid the sponsorship bills of around Rs 10, 40,000 to solve the matter. However, the matter continued to simmer as Mittals had even called the press to witness the whole fracas going on at the hotel. This all stopped only after Bips left her room at five in the morning.

Bahu Aishwarya Rai to dance on Amitabh Bachchan’s song!

Nadiadwala has bought the rights of Amitabh Bachchan’s popular song from “Laawaris’, “Apni to jaise taise, thodi aise ya waise.

For his film “Housefull’. So Aishwarya Rai Bachchan may just get to dance to her father-in-law’s hit track.

It will be used as a promotional track for the film and will feature Akshay Kumar.

Arjun Rampal, Ritesh Deshmukh and Ash in the video. Sajid Khan is the director of the film.

According to sources, the director and the producer loved the idea of using the song and bought its rights.

They are now in talks with Aishwarya and everything should get ready within a few days. While Sajid Nadiadwala confirmed the news.

Sajid Khan didn’t want to either confirm or deny it and stated that an official announcement would be made soon.

Katrina Kaif Back in a Bikini For 'Dostana 2'

Amrita Rao won't accept anything but a luxury car

Bollywood actress Amrita Rao threw a tantrum at the airport when she did not get a luxury car to pick her up and take her to the Ottera in Electronics City.

Where the Bangalore Fashion Week is being held. Finally, she took a hired cab instead of the Innova that was sent for her by the organisers.

According to a source, Amrita Rao was not too happy with travelling in the Innova that the show organisers, Dream Merchants, sent for her and was seen arriving at the hotel.

In Electronics City in an Easy Cab after spending two hours and 10 minutes on the road.

The driver of the cab, Byra Reddy said, "They first told me to drive to Electronics City and then half-way, it became Whitefield. Then back to Electronics City." The bill was Rs 1,257 for the trip.

Amrita was in the city to be designer Archana Kochhar's show-stopper for the Blender's Pride Bangalore Fashion Week. Kochhar and her team were present at the gate to receive Amrita.

The Oterra provides luxury cars such as Camrys and Corollas provided they are booked in advance.

While the rate for a Camry is Rs 4,500, for a Corolla it is Rs 3,309. An Innova's rate is Rs 3,000.

Kunal Chaurasia at the reception, said, "We were not asked to provide this service and the organisers looked into it themselves." Sajad Mahajan from Dream Merchants said he did not know how Amrita travelled. He said, "We sent her an Innova."

Aishwarya looks best in a sari - Designer Neeta Lulla

Ace designer Neeta Lulla has been lending her creative touch to Aishwarya Rai’s wardrobe for more than a decade.

Having dressed the actress in varied costumes in movies like “Taal”, “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam” and “Jodhaa Akbar”, the designer feels the sari suits the former beauty queen best.

“No doubt Aishwarya looks beautiful in Indian outfits, but, personally, I feel that she looks her best in a sari. She can carry a simple cotton to a designer sari with equal poise and elegance,” Lulla told IANS in an interview.

Lulla has been named for a National Award for best costume designer in “Jodhaa Akbar” - her third National Award.

She previously won the award in 1992 for “Lamhe” and in 2003 for “Devdas”. The Mumbai-based designer was here to give.

A sneak preview of yet-to-be opened entertainment destination, Kingdom of Dreams, which will play host to Bollywood musicals. Lulla will be designing the costumes for the stars performing there.

Lulla said she was more than happy to be a part of the project as it will give her a huge opportunity to explore her creative side.

“In Bollywood, you do sometimes face limitations. With this magnum opus concept, I can see myself putting my creativity at its best and exploring various new facets,” she said.

Her association with Kingdom of Dreams would require Lulla to spend more time here than her home in Mumbai, but the designer seems unperturbed and welcomes the change.

“This city is huge and sprawling…I like it for many reasons. So I don’t mind spending some time here. It’s just that I would be juggling between the two cities. But the concept behind this project is so intriguing that I couldn’t have said no,” said the soft-spoken Lulla.

Lulla has been a part of the industry for over two decades and has designed for over 350 movies. Expressing happiness over winning her third National Award, Lulla said these honours not only make her feel special but also inspire her to perform better.

“It’s always nice to receive appreciation for your work. I do feel special but at the same time each project that I take on gives me an opportunity to work and explore my creativity and this in the end helps in delivering a good product,” she said.

Lulla’s upcoming Bollywood project is Ashutosh Gowariker’s “Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey” that has Abhishek Bachchan and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. But she refused to divulge any details about the movie saying, “It’s too early to talk about it.”
